Abstract

This research primarily discusses consonant production problem of Lampungnese English learners in Universitas Teknokrat Indonesia. The ideas is about the student of Universitas Teknokrat Indonesia who are Lampungnese but still learning English at the campus. This thesis then explains how the Lampungnese English learners faces consonant production problem. To analyze this research, theoritical framework provides some theories of phonology and approach is related to the topic which discussed. This research use the qualitative method in which the data are collected. The analysis is done by applying the theory from Ladefoged (2005) used to figure out the consonant production problem on this research. The data in this research are the audio recording of the six participants which are three students from English department and three students from Non-English department. The research found those consonant production problem that faced by student Lampungnese in learning English in tertiary education level. The sounds that the participants produces describe and illustrate the problem of facing different consonants between two languages.
