Abstract
This research was carried out through a case study. It was conducted in three classes with three English language teachers that taught X F TKJ, XI I TKJ, and XII F TKJ of SMK Budi Karya Natarfrom February to March 2021. The data were obtained from the questionnaire, interview, and observation. The data were analyzed through data collection, data reduction, data display, and conclusion. The research findings show that all three teachers got difficulties in managing their online classroom through Google Classroom. Also, the teachers faced eight problems that mostly coming from the students including students' laziness, signal interference, developing the materials, building interaction, students’ understanding, conducting video conference, students’ cheating, and students’ ignorance. The researcher found six factors affecting the EFL teachers’ difficulties in managing online classroom through Google Classroom. Those factors include (1) students’ internet connection problem; (2) students’ misunderstanding; (3)students’ readiness in applying Google Classroom; (4) other students’ influence; (5) less supporter application; and (6)parents’ supportless. Besides, EFL teachers applied several online teaching strategies to overcome the problems in managing online classroom through Google Classroom including communicating with students through WhatsApp, attending to the school directly for those who do not have a smartphone, looking at the references, providing a task in a simple way, triggering the students with reward, and asking help to each homeroom teacher.
