Abstract
This research is deliberately done to investigate the hypermasculinity in Rambo: Last Blood Movie. It reveales the portrayal of hypermasculinity through the main character which named Rambo. The objective of this study is to reveal the portrayal of hypermasculinity depicted through the main character in Rambo: Last Blood Movie. Therefore, the aims of the writer is to make the reader can see and know the part of themselves in a good way, be a useful person for others, and respects the live of others. This research focuses on Rambo: Last Blood Movie by Adrian Grunberg. In analyzing the data, the writer used Ankita Siddhanta's theory of hypermasculinity. In conducting this research, the writer uses a qualitative method since the writer wants to have an in-depth analysis of the data. Moreover, this research is library research with textual analysis since the data of this research are in the form of images, sentences, and dialogues. The writer acquire the informations by finding relevant journals, books, and visiting reliable websites. The writer used gender stereotype literature and movie analysis as the approaches. The finding of this current study shows that there are some characteristics and actions which can be categorized as the portrayal of hypermasculinity based on the dialogues, scenes, and actions of Rambo's character in the movie. The characterisctics that can be seen in the movie such as goodness and responsibility, violence as manly, toughness as emotional self control, danger as exciting, smart and cunning.
