Abstract
ThisstudyaimstoexaminethewaybothBBC NewsandTheJakarta PostrepresentingthenewsaboutReynhardSinagausingthetheory from VanLeeuwen.Thisresearchimplementsadescriptivequalitative methodasitismoresuitabletoanalyzethedata.Thedataareinthe form ofwords.Thedataaregatheredfrom BBCNewsandTheJakarta PostonlineversionwhichtalkingaboutReynhadSinagarapecase.The findingsrevealedthatbothmediausetheinclusionstrategytodecide whichinformationwaschosenastheirbasereferencestorepresent ReynhardSinaga.ThisissuggestedthatBBCUKtendedtouseinclusion strategytoquoteastatementfrom differentpartiesaboutReynhard Sinagaandtoinform thereadersabouthow severehissexualassaults caseis.Meanwhile,TheJakartaPosttendedtouseinclusionstrategyto compareIndonesianmedianewsinpublishinghiscaseandtogivea cleardepictionofthedifferencebetweenReynhardSinaga'scasesto anotherheterosexual'scriminalcase.Further,thisresearchcould be usedasanoverview forthereadersaboutthetypeofstrategyusedby certainjournalistswhorepresentingcertainpersons,cases,orideology throughthearrangementofwordsthatareusedinthetext.
