Abstract
Teaching English for the students has become important in almost every aspect of life. Based on the curriculum of English subjects in Indonesia, in learning English, there are four skills that must be mastered there are reading, writing, listening and speaking. This research was conducted to find out the effectiveness of Netflix application on students’ vocabulary mastery of the eleventh-grade students at SMAN 3 Bandar Lampung. This research used quantitative approach to respond to the research questions that required numerical data. This research focused on finding the effectiveness of Netflix application on students’ vocabulary mastery of class XI at even semester in the academic year 2023/2024 at SMAN 3 Bandar Lampung. Data collection has been carried out using quantitative method using pre-test, treatment and post-test. The test has 30 multiple choice questions and students have 45 minutes to complete them. The subjects in this study were eleventh-grade students at SMAN 3 Bandar Lampung. The experimental class was class XI IPA 1 and the control class was XI IPA 2 with a total of 30 students for each class. After the data was collected, researcher process and analyzed it. In analyzing the data, the researcher used the t-test formula. The results of the calculation of the t value at the significance level a = 0.05. The result of the mean pre-test score from experimental class 55.23 and the post-test is 89.57. The result of the mean pre-test score from control group class 60.25 and the post-test is 76.33 it concluded that the vocabulary mastery of the students in class XI IPA 2 SMAN 3 Bandar Lampung increased after being taught by using the Netflix application.
