Abstract

The research being conducted looks into the influence of English songs on YouTube as a medium to improve the vocabulary mastery of students in class X at SMK AL IMAN 1 Tulang Bawang. The researcher intends to investigate the significant effect of English songs on improving students' vocabulary mastery through YouTube and provide practical suggestions for students, teachers, and future researchers. Using pre-test and post-test measurements, this study used a quasi-experimental design with experimental and control classes. The sample consisted of two classes: the experimental class using YouTube to teach English songs and the control class using conventional teaching methods. The data was analyzed using SPSS 26, and the results revealed a significant improvement in the vocabulary score for the experimental class compared to the control class. The findings show that using English songs through YouTube as a tool for learning improves students' vocabulary achievement. According to the study, English songs through YouTube can be an efficient as well as imaginative tool for teaching vocabulary and creating an enjoyable atmosphere for learning. The study added to existing knowledge collections and provided practical recommendations for implementing technology into English language education.
