Abstract

ABSTRACT This study aims to explore perceptions and know the challenges of students in writing class through Google Classroom at SMK N 1 Bandarlampung, with the research subject being X AKL II. A qualitative method in the form of a case study design is used in this research. Furthermore, this study found findings including negative and positive student perceptions consisting of; (1) students do not understand the use of Google Classroom, (2) there are internet connection problems to connect Google Classroom (3) students do not understand writing materials through Google Classroom (4) students laziness and undisciplined in doing or collecting assignments (5) students has limitations in expressing opinions and responding in the writing class through Google Classroom. Meanwhile, there are two positive perceptions, including; (1) students' less understanding of Google Classroom and (2) students' thoughts learning writing through Google Classroom can control the time. Besides, it was found several challenges for students in writing class through Google Classroom, which are; (1) student challenges regarding unstable internet connectivity, (2) students' indiscipline because they are too bored to do online assignments, (3) students' less of understanding of writing material in class ( 4) student's less of interaction with teachers in Google Classroom (5) students do not understand how to use Google Classroom and its facilities. The findings above can be information for students in writing classes using Google Classroom.
