Abstract

This thesis entitled The Myth of Bourgeoisie and Proletariat in Robin Hood (2018) Movie the construction of Robin hood movie. Bourgeoise and proletariat often define as a structure of social class. These two classes often described as the rich and the poor. Furthermore, the writer dismantles the portrayal of bourgeoisie and proletariat toward this study to see its construction. Thus, the writer aims to delineate the myth of bourgeoisie and proletariat inside the movie. This study Marxist theory within the movie of Robin Hood (2018). Moreover, to strengthen the analysis of the myth of bourgeoisie and proletariat this analysis supported by Barthes’s semiotic analysis. Furthermore, the study was qualitative descriptive; thus, the writer described the analysis of myth of bourgeoisie and proletariat critically. The result of the study reveals there is a hidden meaning within the movie and what is the producer is trying to convince to the audience. By finding the denotation and connotation, the writer discovered the hidden meaning of a new definition of myth of bourgeoisie and proletariat inside the movie.
