Abstract

This research discusses about the analysis of animus personality in woman character of Little Woman by Louisa May Alcott. The method of this research is qualitative research and library research method because this research includes collecting, analyzing, interpreting data and the last will be conclusion. This research aims to describe the animus personality of the main character in Little Woman novel. The woman major character is namely Josephine March or Jo. The writer uses Carl Gustav Jung’s animus. This research also uses Jung’s theory there are four stages of animus personality in doing the analysis. The four stages of animus personality are The Man Power, The Man Deed, The Man word and The Man Meaning. The writer find out the main character which is Josephine March has animus personality. She fills the four stages of animus personality. Firstly, she has interest to man power. Secondly, she acts or behaves like a man. Thirdly, she continues her animus by give her opinion or word about her femininity and the last is she change her looks to be more boy like and it makes her lose her femininity.
