Abstract
This study aims to determine the effect of Project-Based Learning on the ability to write narrative text in class XI of SMK Yadika Bandar Lampung. The researcher used experimental research and quantitative research method. The population of this study was 53 students of class XI which was divided into 3 classes. The research sample was selected using purposive sampling technique. The sample in this study was class XI TJKT. Furthermore, the researcher used pre-test and post-test as instruments in the study. In the research process, the researcher taught using the Project-Based Learning method in teaching narrative text writing. In addition, the researcher collected the data of this study by following several steps including providing a pre-test, giving special treatment by providing Project-Based Learning and giving a post-test exam at the end of the study. The data in this study will then be calculated using SPSS version 26. The results of this study show that the average score of the class after being treated using the Project-Based Learning method has increased significantly. The average value of the pre-test in the class was 47.10 and the average value of the post-test was 81.84. Based on the previous data, the calculated t value is -18.36, with a significant value of 0.00. The paired mean between the pre-test and post-test was -34.73 with a standard deviation of 8.24.
