Abstract

he research examine the effect to TTW (Think-Talk-Write) to improving writing of students' ability in narrative text, especially at SMK Tri Sukses. To determine the effectiveness of learning English through TTW Strategy, by increasing writing in English subjects, using quantitative methods. The researcher conducted this research at SMK Tri Sukses, and carried out this research for tenth grade, especially in class X TSM. This research used one group pre-test and post-test design. The researcher measured the normality and reliability of the test to ensure the data was valid. To find out the final results in this study using the IBM SPSS 22 application to determine whether the hypothesis is accepted or not. Following that, the students pre-test mean score was calculated 43.04. In the post-test, the mean score was 78.12. The result of this research showed that the significant value was 0,000, which was lower than the significance level of 5%. 0,000 < 0.05 which means the H0 was rejected and the Ha was accepted. It can be concluded that there was a significant difference in score after being taught the TTW (Think-Talk-Write) strategy for students’ writing abilities in narrative text in the tenth grade of SMK Tri Sukses.
