Abstract

his research aims to analyze the Marxist feminist of the novel Americanah by Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie, which examines labor exploitation and gender in the novel. The novel explores the experiences of the character Ifemelu through a critical lens, highlighting the gender inequalities that shape her life. In the story, Ifemelu is a complex character who reflects many aspects of the immigrant experience, particularly black women, in the United States. This research was conducted using a qualitative descriptive method. The main data source comes from the novel Americanah. The data of this research is in the form of narration and dialog in the novel. This research applies Marxist feminist theory by Karl Marx with the concept according to Barrets divided into patriarchy, power, and ideology by looking at the combined impact of capitalism and patriarchy, especially on women. This analysis demonstrates how Americanah is an effective feminist literature that illuminates the nuanced connection between labor, gender exploitation, and capitalism. This research emphasizes the value of intersectional feminism in comprehending the challenges faced by women like Ifemelu and provides a critical viewpoint on the complexity of gender, race, and labor exploitation in a globalized society through a Marxist feminist lens
