Abstract
The purpose of this study was to find out whether there was a significant improvement in the tenth-grade students’ listening ability after being taught through English movies at SMA Al-Azhar 3 Bandarlampung. The method of this research was quasi-experimental with a non-equivalent control group. This research used some appropriate data such as pre-test and post-test to collect the data. The analysis used was the t-test with help of SPSS for windows version 25. The aimed of t-test post-test of the Experimental and control group are to determine whether there was an increase in the score. The subject of this research was the students of tenth grade in SMA Al-Azhar 3 Bandarlampung. The findings of this research was found that there were significant score after being taught using the English movies on students’ listening ability. The t-test was declared significant t-count was 2.351 and t-table at a significant level 5% was 2.037. Meanwhile, the p-value was 0.000 a smaller than the t table at a significant level of 5%. From the statistical calculation, the p-value is smaller than the t table. Therefore, the null hypothesis (H?) was rejected and the alternative hypothesis (H?) was accepted. It means that there was an effect of the English movie’s technique on students’ listening ability of the tenth grade in SMA Al-Azhar 3 Bandarlampung.
