Abstract
The forms of English verb are quite different than Indonesian verb because English verb have more variant forms rather than Indonesian as in irregular and regular forms. In that case, there are a set of English verbs which demonstrate some unique properties known as phrasal verbs which is not similar to characteristics of common verbs. Regarding to that, in this research the writer is interested to analyze phrasal verb used in English Electronic Textbook for Senior High School. Thus, the aim of this research is to describe the most used type of phrasal verbs in the textbook of Developing English Competencies of Senior High School. Further, in order to do the research, the writer applied descriptive qualitative method and propose Radford’s theory (2009). As the result of the research, it shows that there are 31 data in total from the five selected narrative text in the Textbook of Developing English Competencies related to phrasal verb and from the total of the data, the writer noticed that the most type of phrasal verb used in the selected narrative texts is the intransitive phrasal verb.
