Abstract
The aim of this research is to reveal the types of deixis were used by Theresa May brexit speech, the writer used qualitative research as the reseacrh design of this study. The data were obtained in the form video of Theresa May brexit speech which is analyzed using the theory from Levinson (1983). There are five types deixis which are person deixis, place deixis, time deixis, discourse deixis and social deixis in Theresa May’s speech, the data were collected in transcript form. The results of this study shows that 480 deixis from five types deixis there are person deixis 388 words, place deixis 41 words, time deixis 31 words, discourse deixis 18 words, and social 4 words. From those five deixis, person deixis is the dominant appear in this speech.
