Abstract

The purpose of this research is to find the characteristics of the god, goddesses and the creatures from Celtic Mythology seen in a novel entitled Iron King by Julie Kagawa. The theory applied by the writer in this research is Celtic Mythology from The Encyclopedia of Celtic Mythology and Folklore. This theory contains the explanations about the god, goddesses and the creatures of Celtic mythology. To answer the research question structurally, the writer arranged the literature review by discussing about the theory and approach. Mythological Approach was applied to answer the research question. In conducting this research, the writer used qualitative method to depict clearly about the research finding. The data for this research are dialogues and narratives about the characteristics of god, goddesses and the creatures of Celtic’s mythology. As the result, the novel Iron King describes about Celtic mythology that appeared in form of Creatures of Celtic God and Goddesses in several characters of Iron King novel, they are Queen maeve, Puck inform of Robbin Goodfellow, Pooka inform of Horse and the Old man, Redcap, Caith Sith, and Fairy Animals inform of water horse.
