Abstract

The aim of this research was to elaborate the structural presupposition in Jakarta Globe’s journalistic articles. This research was included in qualitative research because it was only focus on the pattern of the data findings. This research involved 10 journalistic articles from Jakarta Globe online newspaper selected randomly from business, politic, international, economic, sport, and opinion. To analyze the result of analysis used the theory of presupposition of Yule (1996) and the conceptual framework by Levinson (1983). The result of this research which taken from 10 articles containing of structural presupposition trigger, the most appeared was adverbial clause with 26 data out of 66 data findings. The least data findings were comparative construction (1 datum ) and Wh-question (1 datum) where, only 2 % for each type. This research could be meaningful insight for other researchers or the students to analyze the structural presupposition which is used in many forms of communication in daily life that appropriate especially in the field of structural presupposition.
